Welcome to another new feature on the blog: "In a Flash". These blog posts will feature an image, and a flash fiction written in response to that image. Today's piece is called "Curtain Call".
You'll notice over the next few weeks a roll-out of some new "segments" on the blog. As I mentioned in my recent "Diary of a Writer" post, I plan to blog more regularly and in a more focused way. That being said, I thought it'd be a cool idea to create topics and formats from which to blog from.
As you may have noticed, I recently changed the title of the blog. It was once titled "Almost 30", an ode to an approaching milestone age and its accompanying changes. But now that I am wayyyyy past 30 🙂 I figured it was time for a change.
I made a decision today. Just now, in fact. From here on out, whenever anyone asks "what do you do?" -- I will respond by saying, I am a writer. Because I am. A writer.
The first time I realized my wife was a true writer was July ’12. We were living in Houston, she was 6 months pregnant with our second daughter and we had just moved into a new house: a three bedroom, two story with a lime tree and koi fish pond in the backyard.
